The Roots have also won 4 Grammy Awards over the years cementing them as one of the most prolific hip hop groups ever. illadelph halflife is a classic give it a listen if you haven't heard it before

Car: Audi R8 GT

When Audi first released the R8 in 2006 it turned a ton of heads as this was a new direction style-wise for Audi as well as a new line of street legal super cars. The R8 GT pushes 552 bhp and accelerates through the 0-60 in 3.6, maybe not quite as fast as some of the previous cars but definitely nothing to laugh at. Check it

TDU: Summer Drinking Games

Here at TDU we are firm supporters of drinking stupid amounts of alcohol in the hot sun all summer long. For this reason it is only acceptable that we list a couple outdoor drinking games that will A) Get you tossed quick, and B) Provide some wholesome recreational activities for you and your buddies.

Up first we have 'Barely Sober Bocce Ball'. Normally the way this game is played is whoever's ball is closest to the Pallino at the end of the round receives a point. Once a person or team has accumulated a specified amount of points, they win. Additional points are also received if a person or team's ball is touching the Pallino at the end of everyone's throw. The way we turn this into a raging, loud, drunk game of Bocce is by tweaking the house rules so that the point system gets thrown out the window, and drinking is appointed according to distance from the Pallino. Example: Winner of the round (closest to the Pallino) is safe and doesn't need to drink, next closest chugs their drink according to how far away their ball is from the Pallino. Again, house rules determine the drinking:distance ratio but generally a good rule is that for each inch in between the ball and the Pallino the person or team drinks for that same measurement in time. Off by 10 inches chug for 10 seconds etc. Also if at the end of the round someone is touching the Pallino, the other team or players must chug a beer.

Next is an indoor classic that becomes more challenging outdoors when battling elements such as the wind, sun in your eye(s), and overall lack of focus due to girls in bikinis watching. Anyone who's been to university or college has played this, the legendary game of Beer Pong. You may be thinking this is a dumb addition as it only requires you to move the table outside, however, even better than regular Beer Pong outside is Water Pong. For anyone that has a cottage, is going to a friend's cottage, has a pool, or is going to a friend's pool, this game should be included in the festivities and is worth the investment. Basically you will need a floating table, same rules apply, depending on how you play. I've provided a picture with the basic idea of what you're looking for and even have links for where you may be able to find such a contraption.

Last but not least we have Beersbee. This game is relatively new and to be honest I haven't played it yet, however this is about to change. In case you're already drunk and couldn't put it together, Beersbee is a combination of Beer and Frisbee. This game ensures you always have a beer in hand, and  requires one to focus their motor skills which become less and less prevalent as the game goes on. Essentially two poles are set up 40 feet apart from each other with a beer bottle/can balanced on top. 2 teams of 2 play at a time and must remain behind their pole, at which point players take turns trying to knock the opposite team's bottle off their pole. The rules - each player must have a beer in hand at all times, points are awarded as follows:

A) 1 point for the opposing team if the Frisbee misses your pole and you FAIL to catch the frisbee with a free hand.

B) 2 points for the opposing team if the Frisbee hits your pole and you FAIL to catch the beer with a free hand. 

C) 3 points for the opposing team if you do not have a beer in hand or you drop your beer

Essentially there are 3 points up for grabs on any given Frisbee throw, but 0 can obviously be the outcome if poles are missed and Frisbees are catched. For the full list of rules follow this link:

TDU: Upcoming Games: FIFA 12, NHL 12

Each year there are a few video games that XBoxers and PS3ers religiously wait for until the very moment these games of epic proportions are released to the public. You would think gamers could wait another week or something but clearly the novelty of being the first to own, beat, and embarrass others in FIFA and NHL takes priority to just about anything going on in the real world. In my opinion these 2 games beat out the likes of Call of Duty only because I never get bored of them. COD on the other hand can get tiresome and there's less of an interpersonal relationship since most people haven't run around with an M16, a Semtex, or called in a Pavelow. Sports are for the masses, for anyone who has played soccer or hockey, you know when you play these games you try to emulate what can be done in real life. One knock I have about FIFA which they have hopefully addressed for the new game is the at times horrible computer A.I, also something that sets NHL apart from the FIFA franchise. That being said check out the game trailers for each game and be ready to pick them up in September.

TDU: 2011 NBA Draft Follow Up

Its no secret that this year's NBA draft lacked in the future superstars department. Kyrie Irving and Derrick Williams who were drafted 1 and 2 by the Cavs and Timberwolves do however show lots of talent, upside, and potential to become solid starters at an NBA level this upcoming season (hoping there isn't a lockout). NBA General Managers were also busy negotiating trades moving up and down in the picking order making this year's draft a dizzying experience. Just to note, big congratulations to Toronto native Tristan Thomas for being drafted 4th overall and highest for a Canadian player ever! The only thing funnier than this opening act during the awards ceremony is trying to imagine what was going through Roberto Luongo's head as he watched Tim Thomas walk away with the Stanley Cup, Conn Smyth, and Vezina trophies this year. TDU: Lil Wayne Retiring !?

According to Hip Hop DX, a recent interview conducted with Lil Wayne revealed that the Young Money chief may be retiring after he drops his soon to be released album Tha Carter IV. Weezy says he wants to dedicate his time to his kids and the music industry doesn't allow him to do that.

In my opinion this is most likely a marketing ploy to create more hype around his upcoming album but either way Tha Carter IV will go multiple times platinum. And in case anyone forgot, Jay-Z also retired..so did Eminem....just sayin. Read article HERE

Today's Worth Reading article entails an Antarctic Emperor penguin who got lost and ended up making a 2,000 mile trek to New Zealand. This must be an exceptionally stupid penguin or one ahead of his time attempting to adapt to a warmer climate. Either way its a funny story and should be noted that the NZ Department of Conservation has zero empathy towards the situation and will not be transporting the little fella back to his natural habitat. Top Gear is probably the sweetest car show out there, pushing every car you can think of to the limits. In the video below, Top Gear races the new Ford SVT Raptor against some unusual competition...a Halo Jumper. Wondering what a Halo Jumper is? Its a military free fall technique where the parachutist essentially nose dives to a low altitude at which point they release the chute making it a high risk but extremely covert operation. TDU: Definition of Luck displayed by Kim Clijsters

During the 2011 French Open, Kim Clijsters pulled off what may go down in history as the flukiest of all shots ever. Upon returning a serve, the ball takes a couple sweet bounces off the net and post before landing in play. Somehow I don't think she deserved the point but thankfully it didn't affect the match significantly, both players along with the rest of the tennis watching planet are still scratching their heads at the odds. Jose Bautista is the reigning Home Run KING having crushed 54 pitches last season. His follow up campaign in progress right now is making it clear to everyone that in no way has his recent success been a fluke. He currently sits at the top of the HR list again this season with 21 so far, along with a slew of other nasty stats such as a .657 slugging percentage, a .476 on base percentage, and a .330 batting average. Jose is the real deal and people are noticing judging by this year's All-Star game voting. As it stands Jose is leading the MLB in All-Star votes with over 4 million, no kidding. TDU: NHL Rumours: Steven Stamkos, Ilya Bryzgalov, Ryan Smyth

Now that the Stanley Cup Finals are over, the draft speculation as well as the trade talks begin. There are a number of rumours out there that have been gaining momentum consistently over the past week and a half or so, with some holding more water than others. In most cases trade rumours turn out to be nothing more than rumours, but occasionally there is truth in the speculation.

At this point I'd like to state that I was raised in Toronto, consider it my home, and of course am a die hard Leafs fan  for better or worse. Like every year, next season will mark the end of our Stanley Cup drought. With that being said, I'll provide 3 rumors that don't seem to go away. One of which will make you understand the inspiration behind this post. Check it

Steven Stamkos

Its hard to imagine that the Tampa Bay Lightning wouldn't find a way to come to terms with Stammer in offering a suitable contract. However TBay doesn't have much cap space to play with since they already shell out a small fortune to their veteran superstars Vincent Lecavalier and Martin St.Louis, both still under contract until 2017-18 for Vinny and 2014-15 for Marty. Tampa is also already over the cap which means they will be moving players around this off season.

According to Eklund from HockeyBuzz.com, there are numerous sources (and by numerous I mean over 40 in the past 3 days) saying that Stamkos and Tbay are not coming to terms in a timely manner. That being said you then might wonder who is in the running for the Stamkos bid. Currently the Leafs are rumoured to be at the front of the pack, this would not only solve a huge part of Toronto's lack of offense, but would also be a perfect fit seeing as Stammers home town is Markham, just outside Toronto within the GTA. Also worth noting is the fact the Leafs GM Brian Burke has freed up a large amount of cap space over the past couple years and could offer Stamkos a considerable amount. The Islanders have also been mentioned as contenders but screw 'em. Here's to hoping Christmas comes early.

Ilya Bryzgalov

Ilya is regarded as one of the better goalies in the NHL. The Coyotes are more or less a lackluster team on paper but with Shane Doan running ship and Bryzgalov standing on his head they were able to make the playoffs in a ridiculously tight Western Conference this past season. However there are very strong rumours suggesting he is on the move and most likely will be landing in Philadelphia. This makes perfect sense for the Flyers as they made an absolute mockery this season of what it means to have a #1 goalie, interchanging between 3 different mediocre tendies throughout the regular season and even the playoffs. It seemed to fly for a while as Philly currently has one of the most offensively stacked teams in the league but it wasn't enough as their strange goal tending theory ultimately cost them their season, losing to Boston in the second round. Bryzgalov essentially would solve this problem however the Flyers will need to make quite a bit of cap space for him.

Ryan Smyth

Ryan Smyth has apparently requested to be traded from the Los Angeles Kings for family reasons. More specifically he wants to return to his hometown and play once again for the Edmonton Oilers. His contract expires at the end of the 2011-2012 season which makes it worth L.A's while to trade him while they can, and seeing that Edmonton has tremendous young talent, a deal is very possible. Also Ryan Smyth would be the perfect veteran figure on a team stacked with budding superstars such as Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, and Paajarvi-Svensson. This rumor will most likely be turned into fact considering Ryan Smyth has gained the utmost respect in any hockey market he's ever played for and in nearing the end of his career would like to finish it on his own terms.

Earlier today Ryan Dunn from the Jackass cast was driving his Porsche 911 GT3 when he lost control at high speeds and was killed along with a passenger who has yet to be identified. Calvin Harris has emerged as one of the industry's best electro/house artists. Ready for the weekend basically got me into this genre of music and while I'm new to this scene I can see the appeal. There are a number of singles off this record that are straight up bangers you can listen to at any time. Definitely keep an eye on this Scotsman.

Car: Maserati GranTurismo S

The GranTurismo may not be as fast as some of the previous cars listed on this site. However, the power behind the wheels is still nothing to laugh at, and in terms of style the Maserati is one with the top. The GranTurismo S is the fully loaded model pushing 434 hp at 7,000 rpm, and taking down the 0-60 in 4.9 seconds. This may be the perfect combination of style, luxury, and performance. Check it

I'll make this real simple. 3 Shows you have to watch if you haven't up until now.

1) The Wire

Set in Baltimore this series is all about the drug scene, as seen through the eyes of the dealers/gangs themselves as well as the law enforcement. The Wire ran for 5 seasons and illustrates the realities of what it means to live on either side of the fence in a city filled with violence, drugs, corrupt politicians, and a homicide division with very limited resources. Regarded as one of the best drama series of all time, The Wire has some incredible characters and a talented cast of actors/actresses, many of whom you will recognize from other on screen endeavors as you go through the seasons. 

2) Breaking Bad

Currently my favorite drama out there. The rundown is as follows; Walter White is a genius when it comes to chemistry yet lives a modest life as a high school science teacher. Informed that he has terminal cancer, he thinks of a way to make enough money so that his family isn't left in insurmountable debt once he's gone. After realizing how much money there is to be made in the underground drug industry, Walt begins producing the world's highest quality meth. Breaking Bad Season 4 will be starting in July and has already won a number of Emmy's. Must see



3) Dexter

Probably one of the most twisted shows I've ever seen. Dexter is a blood splatter analyst for Miami homicide while also being a full blown serial killer. He does however have principles, and chooses his victims wisely targeting those who have a history of harming others. While he can't control his urges to kill, Dexter ensures that the people who fit into his principles are brought to justice.

TDU: U.S Open Stud Rory McIlroy

We all witnessed Rory let the Masters championship slip through his fingers. This past weekend Rory more than made up for that now distant memory as he completely dominated the U.S Open. Why should you care? For starters the combined scores of the last 10 U.S Open champions only surmount to 14 under par..Rory on the other hand finished the tournament at 16 under. He also has entered the realm of legendary golfer at the age of 22 having beat some impressive records held by Tiger. TDU: BBC Monkey Gangs

BBC does an incredible job with their documentaries from both the Planet Earth and Human Planet series. There are countless videos that are so gripping you can't even believe what you're seeing, in this case, a gang of monkeys coordinate a robbery. While the food merchant most likely wants to kill each and every one of them, she can't for two reasons 1) There are too many monkeys for her to deal with by herself and 2) The monkeys are considered sacred as part of her culture's deity. Talk about a catch 22

RJD2 has been around since the early 90s releasing some of the dopest tracks and instrumentals to grace the game. He's collaborated with numerous artists and always bring a new sound to the table. Deadringer was his first solo album and is an amazing mixture of instrumentals and selective guest appearances that make this record a classic. Check it

Car: Lamborghini Aventador

Lamborghini never ceases to amaze me in terms of how each new car they produce looks different, yet still cannot be mistaken for anything other than a Lambo. The latest production car is the predecessor to the Murcielago and once again they have raised the bar. The Aventador boasts a 6.5 L V12 powered by 691 hp and destroys the 0-60 test in 2.8 seconds which is just insane. Lamborghini claims this car is 2 generations ahead of anything else comparable on the market today, and up to now only 8 have been produced. One more note worth mentioning is that it has a 7 speed single clutch, yet is significantly faster than a double clutch.

Goddess: Hope Dworaczyk

Not only is she a smoke show in every way, from every angle, but she must have something other than air upstairs since she was on the latest season of Celebrity Apprentice. Well played Trump.
