TDU: 3 MixTapes You Should Have Heard By Now

First and foremost J. Cole is a talented rapper out of North Carolina with 3 impressive mixtapes under his belt and will soon be dropping his first studio album in the near future. His latest mixtape Friday Night Lights showcases a lyrical ability and story telling nature commonly forgotten in today's rap game, songs like Higher have become instant classics and contribute to the hype surrounding this young artist. Second spot I'm giving to Wiz Khalifa because there's more to his music than singles like Roll Up from his most recent studio release Rolling Papers. To really get a sense of the flow and raw style people aren't used to hearing listen to his 2006 release Show and Prove, I guarantee if you haven't heard it before you'l barely recognize who you're listening to but will be hitting repeat none the less. But to stay on topic and for sake of being more recent I'll post arguably the best mixtape of 2010 Kush and OJ, light a spliff and enjoy

Last but not least I want to bring Machine Gun Kelly or MGK to the table, this emcee out of Cleveland raps at high speed hence the name and style of his flow. He is still relatively unknown but his mixtape Lace Up has been turning heads with trunk bangers like Midwest Side, Chip Off The Block, and Cleveland. Be on the look out for MGK in the future, link DatPiff
